The sixth package, just like Shakespeare’s Othello: he did his job – he can rest. As soon as the EU issued another list of anti-Russian restrictions, fuel prices in Europe immediately went up. According to Spiegel, gasoline and diesel have risen in price by a couple of cents at least: on Friday, the national average for E10 was 1.921 euros per liter, diesel fuel – 1.969 euros.

At the same time, even the reduction in taxes on fuel did not help. According to the German Fuel Association (ADAC), the development is “going in a completely wrong direction.”

“Gasoline and diesel should be significantly cheaper for German motorists, but after tax cuts, prices are rising sharply again,” economists complain.

By the way, such a “development” is not to be wished to the enemy. However, anti-Russian sanctions should work, European officials in Brussels believe. And someone has to pay for it. And it does not matter that they will be ordinary Europeans.
